Overall, the Omen 17 is a beastly gaming laptop with a sleek, albeit heavy design. Plus, of course, a proprietary power connector. There are three USB Type-A ports (which many peripherals still use), a Thunderbolt 4/USB-C port, HDMI 2.1, mini DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet, microSD card reader, and a headphone jack. It's still a heavy laptop, though, starting at 6.1 pounds, and that's to be expected with such powerful specs. In terms of design, the Omen 17 looks fairly sleek and clean, and even though it does have RGB, it's done in a very subdued way so it's not obnoxious at all.

The same can't be said for the webcam, which is still a 720p camera with no Windows Hello support. TYThe base model is Full HD and has a 144Hz refresh rate, but you can upgrade to a Quad HD panel and choose either 165Hz or 240Hz models depending on how smooth you want your games to be. The display is a 17.3-inch panel and it comes in the typical 16:9 aspect ratio, which is becoming less common. It has some smart features, too, like auto framing and lighting correction. Above the display is a 5MP webcam, which continues to be one of the best you can find on any laptop, and it also supports Windows Hello. You have the option to get a 3K2K OLED panel, too, which is even sharper and produces extremely vibrant colors and pure blacks, making for a fantastic viewing experience on top of being a great canvas for work. The 13.5-inch display on the HP Spectre x360 is also great, featuring a 3:2 aspect ratio and Full HD+ resolution in the base model. You also get 16GB of RAM and up to a 1TB SSD for storage, though more configurations are likely to show up over time. Performanmce-wise, the HP Spectre x360 13.5 is packing up to a 13th-generation Intel Core i7-1355U, with 10 cores and 12 threads delivering strong performance and great battery life for a Windows laptop. The HP Spectre x360 is one of the most iconic Windows laptops out there, and with the new Spectre x360 13.5, it's just as easy to recommend as previous models.
